Happy Monday! Opening Day is just 10 days away! We’ve had great response to our “Around the World” feature, and today, we have our first post from Africa.
Royals fan Tim and his wife BJ currently live in Johannesburg, South Africa. Tim is on a job assignment with Black & Veatch of Overland Park. The picture at left shows the couple at Pilanesberg National Park, in Northwest Province, South Africa.
Tim has been a Royals fan since graduating from college and moving to the KC metro area in 1983. Tim and BJ will be living in South Africa for the next two to three years. They missed the end of the baseball 2010 season and will likely miss all of the 2011 and 2012 seasons.
Tim likes the fact that he can get the radio broadcasts over the internet. The only downside is that they are seven hours ahead of Kansas City, so most games start at 2:00 AM! He is a big fan of day games!
Tim has been following Spring Training through Facebook and is looking forward to the 2011 season.
Thank you for sending in the photos and sharing your story!
